Grooming is offered to well behaved Golden Retrievers and like dogs.  Included in a grooming session is bathing, drying, trimming of ears, feet, tail, fly away body hairs, nail trim, ears cleaning, anal glands and a thorough going over allowing us to bring to the owners attention any lumps and bumps that should be brought to a veterinarians attention. 

Typically a dog is dropped off at 9:00 am and picked up later in the day.  Providing your pet has good manners and gets along with others, they are never crated and are allowed to spend the day in our home between grooming sessions.  Though my dogs are accustomed to being on the grooming tables for extended periods of time I realize that the majority of pets must have several short grooming sessions during the day to keep them stress free.  I also have a soft spot for seniors so if you have a senior dog that needs special attention and gentle handling, I may be the groomer for you. 

I do not groom aggressive dogs so if your dog has a history of aggressiveness towards people you will need to seek grooming elsewhere.

If you are looking for a summer shave down, we don't even own clippers.  Golden Retrievers have a double coat, a fluffy under coat and a top layer of guard hairs.  When shaving your Golden you actually take away the protection that allows them to remain cool during the summer while exposing their skin to the sun causing dandruff and allowing contact to the elements which can actually cause skin issues/allergies.  What I can offer is to strip out some of the fluffy undercoat and trim up some of the furnishings to help keep your Golden more comfortable during the summer months.
