Royal's Standing Ovation
Panzer was a once in a lifetime dog. We used to say he was a Golden living in a German Shepherds skin, regal in looks but gentle to his core. Panzer came to us from breeder and friend, Peggy Jackson of Royal German Shepherds born on 05/21/1995 we picked him up at 9 weeks and we knew we were blessed from the moment of his arrival. As sometimes happens, though Panzers parents had all their clearances he had bad hips and elbows, but with the right medications, we were able to keep him comfortable for 13.5 years.

Panzer helped raise all the puppies that were born here, as well as a few fosters that we took in from time to time, we often referred to him as 'Uncle Panzer' and he was as gentle as a lamb following them in the yard as they explored their surrounding often cleaning and looking after of them.

We had to say goodbye to Panzer on 12/22/2008.
It had become obvious to us that though Panzers heart and mind were willing, his body had given up. It is never easy to say goodbye to a friend and though he is no longer here with us, the memories he has left behind will be with us for always.
In December of 2008, Panzer made his last ring appearance and went Best Veteran at the German Shepherd Dog Club of Eastern Virginia's specialty show. It didn't matter that he was the only veteran to show up, at 13 and a half years old, proudly presented by his biggest fan, Wade, Panzer made it around the ring tugging on the heart strings of all who watched and cheered.
